Michael apprenticed with Hideo Kamimoto in California during the 1970s and early 1980s, repairing violin family instruments and Martin and Gibson guitars, and building a pair of dreadnoughts. A career in software development intervened from 1984 to 2006. Now Michael is again focused on string instruments, this time using CNC to build the acoustic archtops he designs.
