Ian Murphy holds a Master’s degree in music performance from the Université de Montréal. He is also a three-time recipient of the First Prize in the Chamber Music category at the Concours Guitare-Mauricie, and won the Pierre J. Jeanniot scholarship for excellence from the Université du Québec à Montréal. Moreover, he performs as a guest artist on Jeunesses Musicales du Canada and Radio-Canada. He recently completed a transcription of 36 pieces for guitar and violon written by the famous Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla, published by Hal Leonard. Ian teaches classical guitar at the CÉGEP de Drummondville.
